Niemand muss still schweigen!

The „privilege“ of being white

Salomon, a young migrant from Chile, talks about his migration experience to Berlin and Halle (Saale). He tells us about the difficulties he has experienced in the city of Halle and why he wants to return to the German capital. In Halle he tells us, that the color of his skin plays an important role in the way people treat him; however, this should not have to be the case.

Solomon tells us about the difficulties he had in not being able to speak the German language and the bad experiences he made when dealing with certain people in government offices.

Not remaining silent is important in order to be able to combat acts of discrimination or racism. Not speaking the German language shouldn’t be an obstacle in speaking up. No one has to remain silent! There are organizations in different languages, which help people who experienced discrimination, to report or charge those discriminatory acts.
